TMC Derek O’Brien demands Supreme Court monitored Lok Sabha election 2024 Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury raised Sandeshkhali | TMC’s demand – Lok Sabha elections should be under the supervision of Supreme Court, Adhir Ranjan’s answer

Lok Sabha Election: Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Derek O’Brien on Tuesday said that his party wants Lok Sabha Elections Be under the supervision of the Supreme Court. Derek O’Brien said, BJP is destroying institutions like the Election Commission. Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary retaliated on this demand of TMC. Adhir Ranjan said, Election Commission is a constitutional institution. In such a situation, how can the Supreme Court intervene in this? But the Sandeshkhali issue should be investigated under the supervision of the Supreme Court.

In fact, the TMC leader in Rajya Sabha said that is BJP so scared of facing the people that it is turning the Election Commission into the office of its party? He said on the social media platform ‘X’, “BJP’s dirty tricks are destroying institutions like the Election Commission of India (EIC). Is the BJP so scared of facing the people that it is turning the ECI into a party office to target the opposition?”

O’Brien said, “Transfers of elected state government officials!” For free and fair elections, we want 2024 elections under the supervision of the Supreme Court.” Derek O’Brien’s statement came after the Election Commission’s action to remove West Bengal Director General of Police (DGP) Rajeev Kumar. Instructions were given.

Adhir Ranjan hit back

Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said, the Election Commission is a constitutional body and if TMC has requested the Supreme Court to monitor the elections, then it is their choice. However, I appeal that the investigation into Sandeshkhali should be conducted by the Supreme Court.
