NHAI New Toll Rates: In India, any car or any four wheeler vehicle passes through the road. So wherever there is toll tax, vehicles have to pay toll there. Rates increased from 3% to 5%
There are more than 200 national highways in India. If we talk about it, there are about 1100 toll plazas in India under the National Highway network. Now the journey will become expensive for the people traveling on them. In India, changes are made in the toll rates every year under toll tax inflation. According to the information given by an NHAI official, the toll tax prices will increase by 3% to 5% from June 3.
How much more money will I have to pay?
According to the increased rates by NHAI, your pockets will also be affected. For example, if you travel from Delhi to Agra by your car, then earlier you had to pay Rs 415. Now after the increased rates, you will have to pay Rs 420. Whereas if you travel from Delhi to Agra and Agra to Delhi, then you will have to pay Rs 440 instead of Rs 430.
If someone travels in a heavy vehicle, he will have to pay 20 rupees more from both sides. Due to the increase in these rates, the most expensive journey will be on Sohna Highway. Which will be added to Mumbai Expressway. Where now 125 rupees will have to be paid. Similarly, on Delhi-Mumbai Expressway and Delhi-Jaipur Highway, light vehicles will have to pay five to ten rupees. On the other hand, heavy vehicles will have to pay 45 to 65 rupees.
The collection has grown so much in the last few years
In the year 2018-19, the total toll collection was Rs 252 billion. Whereas in the financial year 2022-23, it increased to Rs 540 billion. During this period, there was an increase in the movement of vehicles and annual prices at toll plazas. Due to which this collection increased.
