Tom Wilkinson Death: Oscar-nominated British actor Tom Wilkinson, best known for his roles in “The Full Monty”, “Michael Clayton” and “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel”, has died at the age of 75. A statement issued by the family said that Wilkinson died suddenly at home on Saturday.

British actor Tom has been nominated for Oscar twice. He is known for his roles in ‘The Full Monty’, ‘Michael Clayton’ and ‘The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel’.

Wilkinson was nominated for a Best Actor Academy Award in 2001 for his work in “In the Bedroom” and in the Best Supporting Actor category for his role in the 2007 legal thriller “Michael Clayton”, starring George Clooney starred.

This was the actor’s 47 year career

He received much praise for his role as former steel mill foreman Gerald Cooper in ‘The Full Monty’. Its story was based on a group of unemployed steel workers. Apart from this, Tom was often chosen to play the roles of American political figures. He was nominated for an Emmy Award for his portrayal of President John F. Kennedy’s father in ‘The Kennedys’.

Wilkinson was born in 1948 in Yorkshire, northern England, and spent part of his childhood in Canada. He attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in the 1970s. The actor starred in dozens of other TV dramas and films, from “Rush Hour” and “Batman Begins” to “Shakespeare in Love”, “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” and “Valkyrie”.
