Trains will start operating from Bareilly via Pilibhit-Shahgarh-Lucknow rail route by the end of April or second week of May. The journey on this rail route passing through Pilibhit and Dudhwa Tiger Reserve will also be thrilling. During the journey, passengers will also get to see beautiful views of the forest. On Saturday, Chief Safety Commissioner (CRS) Pranajit Saxena expressed satisfaction after the inspection. He will inspect again on Sunday.
Apart from the Delhi-Lucknow main line passing through Bareilly, there is a lot of pressure of trains on the Bareilly-Roza-Sitapur line. Sometimes the Pilibhit-Bisalpur-Shahjahanpur route is also used. Now another route from Bareilly to Pilibhit via Shahgarh-Mailani-Lakhimpur-Lucknow has been found. Train operation on this route was stopped for 12 years. Earlier, North Eastern Railway used to operate trains till Lucknow via Agra, Mathura, Kasganj, Badaun, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Mailani, Gola, Lakhimpur. Now this entire railway route has been converted into broad gauge.
The work was stuck due to about eight km stretch between Shahgarh-Pilibhit being in Pilibhit Tiger Reserve (PTR) and delay in approval from the Ministry of Forest and Environment. Now after completion of the work, CRS inspection has also started. It is expected that trains will start operating on this route by the end of April or in May.
