Fog is having a negative impact on the operation of trains. Be it the Mathura-Kasganj railway section of the North Eastern Railway or the Delhi-Kanpur railway section of the North Central Railway, trains are running late due to fog on both. Even on January 3, many trains reached Hathras Junction station late by hours. Passengers had to face problems.

Prayagraj-Chandigarh Unchahar Express, which reached Hathras Junction station at 12:38 pm on January 3, was delayed by about 12 hours. On the other hand, Gomti Express going from Lucknow to Delhi reached Hathras Junction station with a delay of about two hours. Apart from this, the DMU passenger train going from Kanpur to Aligarh reached the station with a delay of about two hours.

On the down track, the passenger train from Ghaziabad to Tundla reached the station late by three hours and the Gomti Express from Lucknow was delayed by one hour. During this period the passengers had to face a lot of difficulties. Many passengers had to cancel their tickets and leave for their destination by other means. Public Relations Officer of North Central Railway, Amit Kumar Singh said that all efforts are being made for regular operation of trains.
