What does science say about jeans?
Now the question arises that which genes are responsible for hair fall. If the father has lost hair, will the son’s hair fall too? Actually, this is not so. Science says that the X chromosome gene is responsible for baldness and it comes to a person from his mother. In the language of science, it is called AR gene. But this gene is not the only one responsible for baldness. Rather, about 200 genes are responsible for this. A person gets these from both the mother and the father.
does the hair ever grow back
According to German news website DW, the total market size of products treating hair loss problem was around $3 billion in 2020. In Indian rupees, this would be Rs 2,51,61,94,50,000. It is estimated that this will double by 2030. Now in such a situation, it is natural to ask whether fallen hair can grow back?
Scientists believe that hair transplant surgery and laser hair therapy work to some extent. Apart from this, this cannot be done with oil and shampoo. Yes, there are some medicines which strengthen the hair and prevent them from falling. But they are not completely capable of growing hair again. No one should take these medicines without consulting a doctor. One of these medicines is Finasteride. Finasteride works by blocking the DHT hormone, so that it does not affect the hair follicles. The second medicine is Minoxidil. Minoxidil opens the blood vessels. However, it is still not fully understood how it increases hair growth.
Work is going on on a new discovery
Recently, some scientists tested the naturally occurring 2-deoxy-D-ribose sugar on rats in the lab. This research was to test its ability to help heal wounds, but doctors noticed that after giving this sugar, hair growth around the wound had increased as compared to before. After seeing this, doctors used this sugar for hair growth. This research revealed that applying this sugar as a gel for 21 days helps hair follicles grow faster. But this research has been done only on rats so far. It will probably take many years for this medicine to reach humans.
