Turkey Earthquake India To Send Search Rescue Medical Teams Along With Relief Material


PMO Meeting On Turkiye Earthquake: India has also prepared its aid mission to deal with the severe earthquake in Turkiye (Turkey). Two NDRF teams are being sent from the Indian side. Along with this, consignments of medicines and relief materials are also being sent. An important meeting has been held in the PMO on Monday (February 6) regarding relief materials.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi After the announcement of all possible help from India in this disaster, Principal Secretary to PM Dr. P.K. Mishra held a meeting in South Block to discuss immediate relief measures. It was decided in the meeting that NDRF search and rescue teams as well as medical teams along with relief material would be sent to the Republic of Turkey immediately.

In the team being sent from India, two NDRF teams of 100 personnel with specially trained dog squads and necessary equipment are ready to go to the earthquake affected area for search and rescue operations. Medical teams are also being prepared with necessary medicines, trained doctors and paramedics.

Relief material will be sent from the Indian side in coordination with the Turkish (Turkish) government and the Indian Embassy in Ankara and the Consulate General of India in Istanbul. The PMO meeting was attended by representatives of the Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, NDMA, NDRF, Defence, Ministry of External Affairs, Civil Aviation and Health and Family Welfare.

The deadly 7.8 magnitude earthquake that struck Turkiye (Turkey) on Monday morning has killed more than 500 people in the surrounding areas as well as in Syria. According to news agency ANI, at least 284 people have died in Turkiye (Turkey) and around 2,300 people have been injured. More than 1,700 buildings have been damaged in 10 cities of Turkiye (Turkey).
