Turkey Made Tank: Turkey is continuously strengthening its presence in Asia. Till now Turkey used to supply only drones, but now Turkish made tanks have also started coming to Asia. Recently the Indonesian Army has included Turkish tanks in its army. The Embassy of Indonesia in Turkey announced that Indonesia’s Defense Minister and newly elected President Prabowo Subianto has included 10 Turkish made tanks in his army. These tanks are known as Kaplan or Tiger.
Indonesia and Turkey are making tanks
The embassy said in its announcement that the medium weight tanks have been manufactured by Indonesian company PT Pindad and Turkish company FNSS. According to media reports, in 2015, Indonesia and Turkey had signed an agreement under which they were to jointly work on the development and production of medium weight tanks. Under the agreement, two types of tanks were to be manufactured. In the year 2017, the companies started testing the tanks and in the year 2022, the first batch of tanks was handed over to the Indonesian Army.
Indonesia is making drones
According to Turkish media, the sale of Tiger tank is the first foreign deal. This tank has been made quite lethal and safe. It is a modern medium weight tank, designed for exceptional tactical mobility. On the other hand, Indonesia has also told that it is also making 12 ANKA drones along with TUSAS. Let us tell you that the sales of Turkish military weapons have continuously increased throughout Asia. Recently Maldives has also purchased drones from Turkey.
Increased demand for Turkish made drones
Pakistan has also purchased drones from Turkey, thus Turkey is continuously selling its military weapons to Asia. Many countries in Asia are signing defense agreements with Turkey, which is giving a boost to Turkey’s defense trade. It is said that due to the better performance of Turkish made drones in Ukraine, its demand has increased.
