While the England team scored 506 runs on the first day itself. Apart from this, Pakistan had to face defeat in that match.

However, talking about this match, after winning the toss, the New Zealand team came out to bat and scored 309 runs for 6 wickets till the end of the first day’s play. Earlier, there was an opening partnership of 134 runs between New Zealand opener Tom Latham and Dwayne Conway. Tom Latham scored 71 off 100 balls while Dwayne Conway scored a brilliant century of 122 off 191 balls. Apart from Tom Latham and Dwayne Conway, Kane Williamson, the hero of the previous match, returned to the pavilion after scoring 36 runs. While Derry Mitchell kept walking after scoring just 3 runs. At the end of the first day’s play, Ish Sodhi and Tom Blendle returned to the unbeaten pavilion.
