Shahganj police has taken two bullion traders from Delhi on police custody remand in the case of fake police officers looting 2.5 kg gold from an employee of a Jaipur bullion trader. On Friday, the police team took both of them to Delhi. They have been given 28 hours remand.

Manish Soni’s employee Pradeep Singh, resident of Patel Nagar, Jaipur, was duped in January. A fake police officer got Pradeep off the train for checking. He fled with the gold. The police had disclosed the incident a few days ago. It was told that the incident was carried out by Virendra Kumar, Vishnu, resident of Gangapur City and Makhan Lala Meena, resident of Durgapur, West Bengal. On 20 June, the police sent Vishnu to jail. Makhan Lala Meena is on anticipatory bail.

On June 23, the police sent Trilochan Bhalla and Manav Mehta to jail along with Virendra Kumar Meena. Trilochan and Manav are residents of Delhi. They are bullion traders. DCP City Suraj Kumar Rai said that Delhi bullion traders Trilochan Bhalla and Manav Mehta were taken on police custody remand. The police team has taken both the accused to Delhi. Both had bought gold from fraudsters. Efforts are being made to recover the same.
