Japan Plane Accident: South Korea’s Korean Air plane collides with Hong Kong’s Cathay Pacific plane at New Chitose Airport in Hokkaido, Japan. Giving more information on this matter, CGTN quoted the fire department as saying that the Cathay Pacific plane was parked at New Chitose Airport when it collided with the plane of Korean Airlines at around 5.30 pm.
Apart from this, according to local media Fuji TV, one plane was parked at the airport and the other plane was almost landing. Therefore, till now there is no news of any loss of life or property. Earlier on January 2, two planes collided on the runway in Japan in which 6 people died.
At the same time, Korean Airlines spokesperson told Global Times that no one was injured in this incident. The accident occurred on Tuesday (January 16) when Korean Air flight KE766 was scheduled to take off from New Chitose Airport in Hokkaido, Japan, to Seoul Incheon International Airport in South Korea.
How did the incident happen?
The plane was being pulled by a tractor of the ground handling company after completing the de-icing operation at the parking lot. During this towing process, the vehicle slipped due to snow on the ground. Korean Air told the Global Times that the plane’s left wing then collided with Cathay Pacific flight CX583 parked in an adjacent parking lot.
