It may not have been decided yet as to who SP will give the ticket from Phulpur, but it has almost been decided from Allahabad parliamentary seat that Ujjwal Raman Singh, son of former MP Revati Raman Singh, will contest from this seat on Congress ticket. It is being told that Ujjwal Raman Singh can contest elections from Allahabad parliamentary seat on Congress symbol while remaining in SP. A day before, he had also met SP chief Akhilesh Yadav.
After the meeting with the SP chief, Ujjwal Raman reached Prayagraj late on Saturday evening with his father Revati Raman Singh, admitted in PGI Lucknow. Here on Sunday, at his residence in Ashok Nagar, he met all the District Panchayat members of Allahabad South, Meja, Koraon, Bara and Karchana and some of his close ones. It is being told that during this time both Revati and Ujjwal told their close ones that they are going to contest the elections on the Congress symbol.
In the meeting, Revathi asked her close ones to get involved in the election campaign of Ujjwal Raman. However, it was also clarified that only after Holi, it will be officially decided whether they will contest the elections with the Congress symbol or not. On the other hand, SP sources say that Ujjwal Raman is certain to contest the elections on the Congress symbol.
He has had final talks with Congress State President Ajay Rai and other leaders. There is also discussion that Congress can also provide financial help to Ujjwal Raman to contest the elections from Allahabad parliamentary seat. At present, at her residence in Ashok Nagar, the close ones of Revathi Raman assured her that whether she fights from Congress or SP, everyone is with her.
