On the lines of the Centre, Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) can soon be implemented in Uttar Pradesh. The Finance Department has started brainstorming for this. The expenditure burden on this is being assessed.
The Union Cabinet on Saturday decided to implement the new pension scheme UPS for central government employees. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath welcomed the scheme and called it a big gift from the Centre to the employees. It is believed that this pension scheme will soon be implemented in UP as well. There are about 17 lakh state government employees here, who will benefit from this scheme.
After the government order is issued by the central government, the finance department of UP will also prepare a note regarding the provisions of this scheme. It will be presented before the cabinet so that further progress can be made towards implementation. On the other hand, Subhaspa president and cabinet minister Om Prakash Rajbhar has also said that UPS will be implemented in UP soon.
