Harikant Sharma/Agra: People of Nagla Kali, Semri, Rajarai celebrated the 17th anniversary of Lord Sharma and his wife Usha Devi in a very unique way. Both the couples celebrated their wedding anniversary in the middle of a dirty and smelly drain and also got photographed. This unique demonstration was done to wake up the public representatives and officials of Agra. For the last 15 years, people living in the area are troubled by dirty water, roads and lack of cleanliness. Everyone together found a way to protest against this and now have announced that anyone’s birthday, wedding anniversary or any other event in the colony will be celebrated in the middle of this dirty drain.
Bhagwan Sharma of Nagla Kali, Agra, celebrated his 17th wedding anniversary with his wife Usha Devi by standing in the middle of dirty water. Where they also garlanded each other. During this, the residents of the colony were present with band instruments.
Name of the drain “Pushpdeep”
Bhagwan Sharma says that earlier we were planning to go to Lakshadweep or Maldives to celebrate the wedding anniversary. But due to the negligence of our public representatives, there is no place for sewer and dirty water disposal in our area. Therefore our road has turned into a dirty drain and we have named it “Pushpdeep”. Today we have celebrated our wedding anniversary by protesting against this.
12000 people in hell like conditions
According to local residents, Nagla Kali Rajrai, Semri has a population of around 10 to 12000. For the last 15 years, the work of drainage of dirty water, roads and sanitation has not been done here. The roads are filled with dirty sewer water. Where accidents happen every day. School going children are not able to come out of that dirty water. People from 17 colonies are living in this hell. The MLA here is Baby Rani Maurya and she is also a minister in the state government. Still the hearing is not happening.
Now boycott Lok Sabha elections
At the same time, all the residents of the colony have come together and decided that now any birthday, wedding anniversary or auspicious event will be celebrated amidst the water of this dirty drain. Along with this, the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections will also be boycotted. Also, no public representative will be allowed to enter his area.
