39 companies are going to invest more than Rs 3300 crore on more than 90 hectares of land of Aligarh Defense Corridor, which will provide employment to about nine thousand youth. The state government will spend more than Rs 122 crore to develop this defense corridor node.
According to UP Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA), so far 39 companies have signed MoUs to set up units. Out of this, more than 62 hectares of land has been allotted to 23 companies. Many units have started work, which has provided employment to more than 5500 people so far. So far, an investment of more than Rs 1800 crore has been made in the Aligarh node.
This Defense Industrial Corridor node being set up in Andala, Khair will be able to manufacture drones, UAVs, components used in defense products, equipment related to electronic warfare and small arms. So far, works worth more than Rs 37 crore have been completed. Works worth more than Rs 61 crore are under construction. Tender process is going on for works worth about Rs 14 crore, while there is a plan to spend an additional Rs 10 crore in the future.
Amitech Electronics Limited, which is building a satellite space port, is among the big companies investing in the Aligarh node of the Defense Industrial Corridor. Amitech is investing Rs 330 crore. It has started work in an area of two hectares. Apart from this, Veriwin Defense Private Limited is investing Rs 65 crore.
This company, which will be set up in an area of more than one and a half hectares, will manufacture small arms. Similarly, components related to defense products will be manufactured by Nitya Creations India at a cost of Rs 12 crore. Apart from this, companies like Anchor, Milkor and New Space will also produce defense related products in Aligarh node.
