There is good news for the donors of Uttar Pradesh! Taking a big step in the interest of the farmers of the state, the Yogi government has included 9 new crops of Zayed season in the realm of crop insurance scheme and Kisan Credit Card (KCC). Now farmers will be able to get relief on weather on crops like peanuts, maize, moong, urad, papaya, litchi, watermelon, melon and amla.
Cheap debt, interest exemption from farmer credit card
The farmers will get the benefit of connecting these crops with KCC as a loan at cheap interest rates. The special thing is that if the farmers pay the loan on time, then they will also be given additional discount in 3% interest. To give relief from economic tension for farming, the central government has also increased the limit of Kisan Credit Card to ₹ 5 lakh. In such a situation, farming for the farmers of UP will now become easier and beneficial than before.
Now compensation will be available in natural disaster
The second major advantage of this decision of the government is that if the crop is bad in disasters like rain, drought, flood or hailstorm, the farmer will get compensation under insurance. With this, the loss will be compensated and the farmers will be financially safe.
The Yogi government has also decided to promote the cultivation of Makhana. Farmers will be given loan facility by including Makhana in Scale of Finance. Farmers can now get easy loans for cultivation of Makhana along with Kharif and Rabi crops.
40% grant on indigenous cows, relief in poultry scheme also
The government has also given great relief for cattle rearers. Under the Chief Minister Swadeshi Gau-Samadhan Yojana, up to 40% of the cost will be given for the units of the cows of Gir, Sahiwal, Haryana and Tharparkar breed. Also, under the Backyard Poultry Scheme, 50-50 chicks will be distributed to 25 beneficiaries in every development block.
