The process of forming a State Capital Region (SCR) by combining the capital of Uttar Pradesh and six nearby cities has been intensified. The government has approved the formation of ‘State Capital Region Development Authority’ for this. The Chief Minister has approved the proposal related to this through Cabinet by circulation on Tuesday. Now its notification will be issued soon. After this, a senior IAS officer will be posted in the authority.
Let us tell you that the state government has decided to form SCR by combining Lucknow, Unnao, Hardoi, Sitapur, Raebareli and Barabanki. For this, an ordinance was issued recently, in which the provision for the formation of Uttar Pradesh State Capital Region and other area development authorities was given. Under this, the government has formed UP State Capital Region and an authority for it. No expenditure burden has been proposed on the state government in the formation of the development authority. The process of formation of the authority will be started from the date of issuance of the notification.
The government believes that with the formation of ACR, not only will there be planned development of Lucknow but also all the five nearby cities, while civic and infrastructure facilities will also be developed rapidly in these cities. The formation of SCR will also accelerate the economic development of the state.
