The Uttar Pradesh government gives grants for marriage to the daughters of poor needy families. Under the Chief Minister Group Marriage Scheme, the Uttar Pradesh government provides financial assistance for the marriage of daughters belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Class, General Class and minority families.
Financial assistance of Rs 51 thousand is given by the Uttar Pradesh government for marriage. In which Rs 35000 is sent to the daughter’s account. So Rs 10,000 is given as a gift to the bride and groom at the wedding. Rs 6000 is spent on electricity, water, pandal and food arrangements in the wedding.
What is the eligibility for the scheme?
As we told you, this scheme of the government is for daughters belonging to poor needy families. That is why some eligibility criteria have been made for this scheme. In which only the daughters of those families whose annual income does not exceed Rs 2 lakh will get the benefit of this scheme. Along with this, only the original residents of Uttar Pradesh will be able to get the benefit of this scheme.

How to avail benefits in the scheme?
To avail benefits under Chief Minister Group Marriage Scheme of Uttar Pradesh, the applicant has to apply online by visiting the website of the scheme https://cmsvy.upsdc.gov.in. After this, a printout of the application has to be taken and submitted to the District Social Welfare Office. There one has to meet the officials and complete the further process.
