The Yogi government will organize Van Mahotsav from July 1. This festival will continue till July 7. During this time, on one hand, the government will focus on the conservation of heritage trees, while on the other hand, a public awareness campaign related to plantation will also be run. School children will also be made aware of the environment through many competitions including Prabhatpheri, street plays. In view of the uncontrollable heat of the past few days, the Yogi government is again putting special emphasis on environmental conservation and rainwater harvesting. At the same time, CM Yogi Adityanath has appealed to the people of the state to plant one or two fruit trees and protect them.
School children will be made aware
Public awareness programmes will be organised under the Van Mahotsav to be held in the first week of July in the state. Under this, Prabhatpheri, street plays, painting, essay, debate competition and seminars etc. will also be organised at the school level. Along with this, by running a campaign, emphasis will be laid on environmental protection, importance of tree cover and plantation, rain water harvesting, water conservation, cleanliness-elimination of the use of plastic etc.
An eye is also on the promotion of heritage tree garden
During the Van Mahotsav, the department will also focus on publicity for the heritage tree garden. Along with this, plantation will be done in the catchment of wetlands, plantation will be done on the river banks for the conservation and revival of rivers, and plantation will also be done in urban areas. From 1st to 7th July, many programs will be organized on a large scale in every district including public awareness. Along with this, as per the instructions of the Central Government, a tree will also be planted in the name of mother.
CM appeals to the general public to plant at least one or two trees
Under the Van Mahotsav, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has appealed to plant at least one or two fruit trees in your courtyard during this rainy season. Also, plant as many trees as possible in the state and irrigate and take care of them continuously.
Yogi government will plant 35 crore saplings in 2024 also
Apart from the Van Mahotsav, the Yogi government will plant 35 crore saplings this year too to keep UP green. For this, targets of departments and divisions have already been set. The forest-environment department will plant 14 crore saplings while the rural development department will plant 12.59 crore saplings in the state. The highest target has been given to Lucknow division (4 crore).
