The series of deaths due to the scorching heat is not stopping. On Friday also, 189 people died in the state due to heat stroke. These include 19 polling personnel and security personnel deployed on election duty for the voting to be held on Saturday. At the same time, 10 polling personnel also lost their lives in Bihar.

On Friday, Kanpur and Mathura were the hottest with 48.2 degrees. In most of the cities of the state, the mercury was recorded above 45 degrees. There was also heat wave along with the scorching sun. 18 people engaged in election duty in Varanasi and surrounding areas died in the scorching heat of 43 degrees. All of them were preparing to go with the polling parties to conduct the seventh phase of elections. Eight home guards and one security personnel died in Mirzapur alone.

Three polling personnel on election duty have died in Varanasi. Three polling personnel and one security personnel have also died in Sonbhadra. District Magistrate Chandravijay Singh said that the cause of death has not been confirmed yet, but all the symptoms seem to be of heat stroke. Two home guards have died in Chandauli. Apart from this, a Bhadohi resident inspector posted in the strong room in Raebareli died.

Nights are also hot: The temperature in Lucknow reached 45.8 degrees. Nights are also hot in Hardoi, Kanpur, Varanasi, Churk, Prayagraj, Jhansi, Sultanpur, Fursatganj. The minimum temperature here was between 30 degrees and 33.9 degrees Celsius. According to senior meteorologist Atul Kumar Singh, there are chances of rain in many areas of the state. Dust storms may occur.

So many deaths here: 47 people died on Friday due to severe heat in Bundelkhand and Kanpur and nearby districts. Of these, 21 died in Hamirpur, eight in Fatehpur, six in Chitrakoot, four each in Kanpur and Mahoba, three in Banda and a child in Farrukhabad. Family members say that all of them were suffering from vomiting, diarrhea and fever due to the heat. 68 people died in nine districts of Varanasi, Azamgarh and Mirzapur divisions. 36 people also died due to heat in Prayagraj and nearby districts. 20 people died due to heat in Awadh.

According to doctors, the deaths were due to deterioration in health due to heat. This includes four each in Raebareli and Ayodhya, three in Bahraich, five in Shravasti, one in Sitapur, two in Gonda and one in Barabanki. Four in Jhansi, one head constable in Moradabad, a cloth merchant in Pilibhit and one person each in Badaun and Aligarh have also died due to heat.

10 people lost their lives in Gorakhpur-Basti division. Three people each died in Gorakhpur and Basti, two in Deoria and one in Sant Kabir Nagar. Apart from a constable from Ghazipur and two home guards from Baghpat and Etah, two private drivers on election duty were also among the dead.
