How to become a Lekhpal in UP: Uttar Pradesh Lekhpal Recruitment Exam is a big entrance exam which is conducted every year and a large number of candidates participate in it. This year’s UP Lekhpals have been appointed and appointment letters have been handed over to them by UP CM Yogi. This exam is conducted by Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission. It is a state level institute which conducts exams every year for Group C and D recruitments. Lekhpal Exam is also one of these.
Who can apply
Every year, advertisement for UP Lekhpal recruitment is issued by UPSSSC. Candidates who have passed 12th or graduation from any stream can apply for this. Age limit is 18 to 40 years. Reserved category also gets relaxation as per rules.

How is the selection done
For selection on these posts, candidates have to give a written exam. Along with this, it is necessary that he has passed UP PET i.e. Uttar Pradesh Preliminary Eligibility Test. Passing UPPET is the main and first requirement for government recruitment in UP. You should apply only if you have a certificate of passing PET.

Apart from UP PET, the other exam that candidates have to pass is called UP Lekhpal Exam. This exam is of two hours duration and has four sections. Each section has 25 questions and the entire exam is of 100 marks. There is no negative marking in the exam. You can check the syllabus from the website.
The four sections from which the questions are asked are General Hindi, Maths, General Knowledge, Rural Development and Rural Society. Each section contains 25 questions carrying 25 marks each. A total of 100 questions carrying 100 marks are asked.
How much salary do you get
On being selected for the UP Lekhpal post, candidates get a salary of Rs 5200 to Rs 20,200 per month as per the Pay Level 1S 1-18 as per the Seventh Pay Commission. Their grade pay is Rs 2000. Apart from basic pay, they also get many other allowances like house rent, dearness allowance, travel allowance, medical facility, travel concession, pension, group insurance etc. This is the reason why there is a lot of demand for this job.
