Azam Khan has played such a political gamble regarding Rampur seat in the Lok Sabha elections in which the party’s national president Akhilesh Yadav has been left in a dilemma. Azam Khan had asked Akhilesh Yadav to contest the Lok Sabha elections from Rampur. Akhilesh Yadav could not make up his mind for this.
In such a situation, SP has not been able to decide its candidate till a day before filing of nominations and on the other hand, SP has announced boycott of elections in Rampur. In a way, Azam Khan has put the ball in Akhilesh Yadav’s court.
Azam Khan is an experienced player of politics. They prepare any strategy keeping the future in mind. Azam Khan has been in jail for the last few months. In such a situation, many local SPs had started planning to contest the Lok Sabha elections. Many ticket claimants had also met Azam Khan in Sitapur jail regarding this.
Many leaders had also started preparations for the elections at their own level. Meanwhile, after meeting Azam Khan, SP National President Akhilesh Yadav reached Sitapur jail. After the talks between the two leaders, it seemed that the candidate from Rampur seat would be decided.
