With the completion of the last phase of the Lok Sabha elections on Saturday, all eyes are set on the results to be announced on June 4. The messages emerging from the results will decide a lot. Not only will the stature of the central and state ministers contesting the elections be decided, but the ground hold of many MLAs dreaming of becoming ministers will also be revealed.
It will also be known how much impact the equations created by the party by bringing in a large number of leaders from other parties at the time of elections and giving them positions and prestige had.
During the two and a half month long election campaign, many important feedbacks came from BJP workers in the state.
First, the image of many ministers and MPs was not good among the public. Despite winning two consecutive elections in the name of PM Modi, they remained disconnected from the public. Their image among the public was also not good. They were limited to increasing their wealth, promoting their family and their people from Pradhan to Pramukh and from Zila Panchayat member to President or MLA and taking advantage of contracting.
According to the feedback, tickets of about 10 more such MPs should have been cut. Two of them were ministers as well. But, the party gave them another chance, giving more importance to the loss that would be caused by their displeasure over ticket cutting than to public sentiment. Workers remained lethargic on many such seats, which made the fight difficult.
