Expansion

In the Lok Sabha elections, even Subhaspa and RLD could not provide much benefit to BJP. BJP had expanded NDA to include parties like Subhaspa and RLD to woo the backward vote bank in the state elections. But both the parties could not show any magic. The same was the case with two other old allies of NDA, Apna Dal (S) and Nishad Party.

Under pressure from the SP’s PDA formula, the BJP had re-inducted Subhaspa president Om Prakash Rajbhar, who had left the BJP and joined the SP before the assembly elections, into the NDA to win the electoral battle in UP.

It was due to Rajbhar’s efforts that Dara Singh Chauhan, who had quit his ministerial post and joined the SP in the 2022 assembly elections, was brought back to the BJP. Similarly, at the last moment, BJP broke away RLD, which was a part of the India Alliance, and brought it into the NDA camp. While Apna Dal (S) has been a part of the NDA since 2014 and the Nishad Party since 2019.

Not only this, BJP had given a share of seats to all NDA allies. One seat was given to Subhaspa, two seats each to Apna Dal (S) and RLD. At the same time, Sanjay Nishad’s MP son Praveen Nishad was fielded from Sant Kabir Nagar seat for the second time.
