The crime journey of Asad, son of Atiq Ahmed, who was killed in the encounter, was just a few months. In fact, his name never came to the fore till before the Umesh Pal murder case. But after elder brother Ali went to jail last year, he became the leader of the gang. Along with giving orders to the henchmen, he had also taken care of all the businesses including land grabbing of Atiq-Ashraf, demanding extortion.
Sources say that Asad, the third of Atiq’s five sons, did not talk much to anyone. He did not get along easily with people in the family or outside. Not only this, he remained silent even in the family. However, since June last year, there was a sudden change in his demeanor. This change came after elder brother Ali surrendered and went to jail for demanding extortion of five crores. Sources reveal that after Ali went to jail, Asad took over the command of the Atiq gang.
had taken the task of extortion in his hands
He was starting to call himself the kingpin. He had also increased his interaction with those who were close to Atiq. Citing the orders of Atiq or Ashraf, he started getting them to work. Like Atiq, he also used to give orders to the henchmen. Sources even say that apart from extortion of the gang, he had also taken other businesses in his hands. He used to decide when, from whom, how to ask for money.
Small MPs used to say close
After Ali went to jail, Atiq’s henchmen also accepted Asad as their boss. He used to call him the little MP. He often used to visit his brothers Umar and Ali, who were lodged in Lucknow and Naini jails. Sources also reveal that Assad, who had a few friends earlier, had suddenly expanded his circle of friendship in the last one year. He had made many friends not only in Prayagraj but also in Kaushambi, Fatehpur and many other cities as well as Delhi. In this sequence, he also created a WhatsApp group named Sher-e-Ateeq.
walked like a shadow during muscle
Asad not only became the leader of the I-227 gang, but also looked after every arrangement of Atiq and Ashraf from Sabarmati to Bareilly. He used to visit them on every appearance of both and used to walk with them like a shadow from the time they entered the court premises till they left. Many of his henchmen also used to walk back and forth. He was also seen walking in front of Atiq when he came to the CBI court in Lucknow to appear in the Rajupal murder case last year.
Ashraf’s darling, used to visit Bareilly often
Asad was the favorite of his uncle Ashraf among his five brothers. This is the reason why he often used to visit her in Bareilly Jail. He used to click photographs with him as well as make reels when he was brought to the court. A few days before the murder of Umesh Pal, one such reel was made in Bareilly and posted on social media. In this he was seen with Ashraf and his brother-in-law Saddam. There was also a dialogue in the reel that Chaudhary sahib, go home, the storm is coming. When the video went viral after the Umesh Pal murder case, it was also feared that the purpose of making it was not to indicate the coming storm.
