Teachers suffering from serious diseases working in basic and secondary schools of Uttar Pradesh can now be given assistance up to one lakh rupees. The grant amount for the marriage of daughters of deceased teachers has also been increased to one lakh rupees. This decision was taken in the meeting of the State Executive Committee of Rashtriya Adhyapak Kalyan Pratishthan held on Friday under the chairmanship of Minister of State for Secondary Education (Independent Charge) Gulab Devi.
In the meeting held at the Directorate of Secondary Education, the amount of assistance to be given from the National Teacher Welfare Foundation Fund was discussed. After this, it was agreed that the amount of financial grant of Rs 10 thousand given for the marriage of the daughters of deceased teachers is very less. It should be increased to Rs one lakh. At the same time, it was agreed to increase the amount given to teachers suffering from serious diseases from Rs 30 thousand to a maximum of Rs one lakh.
In the meeting of the Executive Committee, the Minister said that for timely disposal of pending cases, the meeting of the State Executive should be convened every three months instead of six months. Also, under the scheme, applications for assistance of teachers suffering from serious diseases and their dependents should be taken online. For this, a portal should be developed and cases should be disposed of on time.
A three-member committee has been constituted to prepare the timetable.
Agreement was also reached on the formation of a three-member committee to prepare the outline of the portal and timetable. It was said in the meeting that under the scheme, symbolic flags worth two rupees are given by children on Teachers’ Day. Since this amount is very less, a symbolic contribution of five rupees was fixed from students of class 1 to 8 and 10 rupees per flag from students of class 9 to 12. Special Secretary Finance RL Tripathi, Director of Secondary Education Dr. Mahendra Dev, Principals of Secondary and Basic Education etc. were present in the meeting.
