Hundreds of candidates gathered at Eco Garden on Friday to protest against the paper leak in the Uttar Pradesh Police Constable Recruitment Examination. The candidates were demanding the government to re-conduct the recruitment examination. During the demonstration, the protesters tried several times to go to the Legislative Assembly, but the police stopped them by barricading the main gate.
After this, the administration got the candidates talking to the Additional Secretary Recruitment of Uttar Pradesh Police and Promotion Board. During the talks, the board officials assured some decision after two days. After the talks, the candidates have announced to continue the strike.
Those who talked to the board officials included Sumit Kumar Vidyarthi, Ravi Tiwari, Alok Shukla, RS Pailwar, Swapnil Aggarwal, Maroof, Akhilesh Kumar and many others. Earlier in the afternoon, during the protest, Apna Dal Kamerawadi leader and MLA Pallavi Patel joined and supported the candidates and called their demands legitimate.
Meerut candidates Aadesh and Akash, who were involved in the protest, said that even before the paper started, answers to about 145 questions had reached thousands of candidates. Shivam Patel and Sanjay Yadav of Ambedkar Nagar Nagar said that due to the paper leak, our wishes were dashed.
