In view of Prayagraj Maha Kumbh, a meeting was held on Thursday at the Transport Corporation headquarters regarding the operation of buses. Corporation spokesperson Ajit Kumar Singh said that the Transport Corporation will run seven thousand buses for the fair. 550 shuttle buses will also be run. In this, 200 city buses and 350 corporation buses will run on local routes. The Additional Managing Director reviewed the preparations by holding a meeting with all the regional managers.
He informed that a plan has been made by dividing the Maha Kumbh Mela into three phases. The first phase will be from 12th to 23rd January, the second from 24th January to 7th February and the third from 8th to 27th February. The main bathing is on 13th, 14th, 29th January and 3rd and 26th February. Regional managers will be deployed to operate buses from temporary bus stations. These temporary bus stations will be built at eight marked places.
Checkposts will also be set up on Lucknow, Ayodhya, Kanpur, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Mirzapur, Banda routes. A central control room will be set up at the headquarters. Officers posted at the regional and central control room in Prayagraj will monitor the crowd at the bus stations through CCTV and walkie-talkie.
