Former Forest Minister Dara Singh Chauhan has left the SP. Along with the membership of SP, he has also resigned from the membership of the Legislative Assembly. He was elected MLA from Ghosi (Mau) on SP ticket. He took this step after talks were finalized on the issue of joining BJP. Dara Singh Chauhan sent his resignation via e-mail to Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana on Sunday. He spoke to Mahana over the phone as well. Dara Singh Chauhan was the Forest Minister in the Yogi-1 government and had joined the SP just before the assembly elections last year. Then his joining was publicized by the SP as a big success. Dara Singh Chauhan, who comes from backward class society (Nonia caste), has a lot of involvement in his homogeneous society in Mau and Azamgarh. Dara Singh started politics with BSP. He has been a member of the Rajya Sabha in the years 1996 and 2000. Also he won Loksabha election from Ghosi in 2009 on BSP ticket. In February 2015, he took the membership of the party in front of the then BJP President Amit Shah in Delhi. In the year 2017, he became MLA from Madhuban by contesting assembly elections on BJP ticket. In the year 2022, MLA was definitely elected from Ghosi on SP ticket, but after the election, his relationship with SP was not smooth.
Here, the discussion of his joining BJP was going on for a long time. Dara Singh Chauhan is considered close to Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Before the Bihar assembly elections in the year 2020, along with Amit Shah, he also campaigned there for several days.
