Mohammad Zahid alias Sonu, a resident of Phulwari Sharif in Bihar, who killed two RPF constables in Ghazipur last month, was arrested late Monday night after an encounter with the STF. Zahid, a criminal with a reward of Rs 1 lakh, has been sent to the hospital for treatment. Several cases of kidnapping and liquor smuggling are already registered against him.
Let us tell you that on the night of 19 August, two RPF constables Javed Khan and Pramod were trying to stop the smuggling of illegal liquor in Barmer Guwahati Express in Ghazipur. During this, the smugglers beat up both the constables badly and threw them off the moving train, due to which both of them died.
Mohammad Zahid was wanted in this case. He was surrounded by the STF’s Noida unit and Ghazipur police team in Dildarnagar area tonight. He has been seriously injured in retaliatory firing by the police.
