The weather has taken a U-turn in Uttar Pradesh due to the effect of easterly winds. As the cold wave that has been going on for the last few days subsided from Monday, an increase was recorded in day and night temperatures. The Meteorological Department says that there will be a slight increase in the maximum and minimum temperatures in UP for the next four to five days.

On Tuesday, due to sunshine in the afternoon and slight rise in temperature, there was a feeling of warmth during the day at most places. Due to the effect of easterly winds, the minimum temperature has increased by 1 to 2 degrees in most parts of UP including the capital Lucknow in the last 24 hours.
Due to dense fog, on Tuesday morning the visibility in Kanpur and Azamgarh was reduced to 200 meters while the visibility in Amethi, Lucknow, Bahraich and Kushinagar was reduced to 400 meters.
According to the Meteorological Department, due to the effect of the newly developed western disturbance, the cold wave will stop in UP for the time being. Meanwhile, there will be light to moderate fog due to moist easterly wind.
According to Atul Kumar Singh, scientist of the Zonal Meteorological Center, due to the newly developed western disturbance and moist easterly winds, there will be an increase of 1 to 2 degrees in the minimum temperature in most parts of the state including Terai and Purvanchal. There will be relief from cold wave for the next three to four days.
