Relief from scorching heat has started. On Monday, pre-monsoon rains occurred in most districts of UP including the capital Lucknow. After this the weather became pleasant. According to the Meteorological Department, monsoon can also enter UP anytime. Due to this, there is a possibility of heavy rain in eastern Uttar Pradesh from June 26 and in western Uttar Pradesh from June 27.
On Monday, Lucknow received 7.1 mm of rain, Varanasi received more than 14 mm of rain. Aligarh recorded 10.2 mm of rain. Most parts of the state, including Barabanki, Gorakhpur, Bahraich, Fatehgarh, Bareilly, Meerut, Agra, received heavy and sometimes light rain.
According to Atul Kumar Singh, meteorologist of Regional Meteorological Center Lucknow, the monsoon has stopped near Sonbhadra. It can move ahead and enter UP anytime in 24 hours.

An orange alert has been issued for Ghazipur, Azamgarh, Mau, Ballia, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Basti, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Siddharth Nagar, Gonda, Balrampur, Shravasti, Bahraich, Ambedkar Nagar. A yellow alert has been issued for Banda, Chitrakoot, Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Pratapgarh, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Sant Ravidas Nagar, Jaunpur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Hardoi, Kannauj, Kanpur rural and city, Unnao, Lucknow, Barabanki, Rae Bareli, Amethi, Sultanpur, Ayodhya, Auraiya, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jhansi, Lalitpur and surrounding areas.
