Upasana Singh On Leaving Kapil Sharma Show: Upasana Singh entertained the audience a lot by playing the role of Pinky Bua in Kapil Sharma’s show ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’. But when Kapil Sharma came to Sony from Colors, Upasana was out of the show and became a part of Krishna Abhishek’s comedy show. Now after years, Upasana has broken her silence on saying goodbye to Kapil Sharma’s show.
In a recent interview given to Siddharth Kannan, Upasana has revealed that she was crushed between the dispute between Kapil Sharma and Krishna Abhishek. He said- ‘Our show remained at number 1 for 28 years and very few people gave such a show. There came a time when I had nothing to do. I also told Kapil, I have a very good relationship with him, there is no quarrel, many people say that I left the show because of quarrel.
‘My contract was with Colors’
Upasana said- ‘I told Kapil that the show is no longer the same as it was, I used to enjoy doing it earlier. So sometimes I am speaking just two lines. So I told Kapil to pay some attention to my character. At that time Kapil was trying out heroes for his films. He used to tell me that if I can get out of these troubles, I will. In between, Colors had some dispute with Kapil and my contract was with Colors. I did not have any contract with Kapil or his team.
Makers used to cut the punchline of Upasana!
The actress further says- ‘When these people came to Sony, Colors said that we have a contract with you. He was bringing Krishna’s show, so he said that you do it till the contract is completed. Now there were two different teams, so I was not comfortable there. There was some tension in the team of Kapil and Krishna. Whenever I used to come, they would stop talking, if I had any punchline, many people would cut it. I don’t want to take anyone’s name. There was a controversy then and I left the show.
‘There was so much torture that…’
Upasana further explained why she did not return to Kapil’s show. He said- ‘There was so much torture that even when I knew that people would laugh at this punchline, in the telecast he used to spoil the line. Many such things happened and Kapil asked me to come to his show. But then I had started two Punjabi films as a producer. Kapil also did voice over in a film, we have a very good relationship. Many things happened but I was not satisfied with the work, so I said that I do not want to do the show.
