IAS Pawan Dutt’s father Venkateshwarlu Annamaya, who hails from Tirupati district of Tamil Nadu, works for LIC India. Pawan’s mother is a teacher. Pawan wanted to become a doctor since childhood. He was very good in studies since childhood. After completing his schooling from Hyderabad, he took admission in a medical college located in Tirupati and obtained an MBBS degree here. But when the Corona epidemic spread, he saw administrative management and decided to become an IAS officer.

When he started preparing for this exam, there was not much time left in the exam. In such a situation, instead of making a special strategy, he decided to clear the basics and started studying. He says that he had cleared the basics for the prelims exam, which he also revised. Then for the mains exam, he prepared short notes for current affairs. Apart from this, he focused on the speed of writing.

He took the help of coaching for optional subjects and also gave mock interviews. During the interview, he was asked questions related to his field. He answered them intelligently. In his first attempt, Pawan brought glory to his family by securing 22nd rank. Pawan faced emotional breakdowns many times during UPSC preparation, but he faced the challenges every time.
