US Presidential Elections: Former President Donald Trump, who is preparing for a debate with US Vice President Kamala Harris, has called former Democratic Congress member Tulsi Gabbard to intensify his attacks. The New York Times has given this information quoting two people who are aware of Trump’s program.
According to The New York Times report, the former US President has sought Gabbard’s help to intensify his attacks against Harris in the September 10 debate. This development comes at a time when President Joe Biden has dropped out of the presidential race and put Kamala Harris forward.
What did Donald Trump’s spokesperson say?
Donald Trump’s spokesperson said, “The former President has proven to be one of the best debaters in political history, as evidenced by his crushing defeat of Joe Biden. He will not require traditional debate preparation, but will continue to meet with respected policy advisors and effective communicators like Tulsi Gabbard, who successfully dominated Kamala Harris on the debate stage in 2020.”
Who is Tulsi Gabbard?
Tulsi Gabbard, who left the Democratic Party after his 2020 presidential bid, is reportedly helping Trump during practice sessions at the Republican’s private club, home and Mar-a-Lago.
In fact, one of the main reasons for Gabbard’s selection was her impressive performance while debating with Harris during the Democratic primaries in 2019. During the debate, Gabbard launched a scathing attack on Harris’ record as a prosecutor.
Gabbard accused Harris of putting 1,500 people in prison for marijuana violations and initially withheld evidence that could have freed an innocent man from death row. The debate proved disastrous for Harris, and she dropped out of the race in December 2019.
