The American colonies got independence from Britain on July 4, 1776. But its process took place on July 2, 1776, when the Continental Congress held a secret ballot to declare independence. On that day, 12 to 13 American colonies officially decided to separate from British rule. Those who declared the American colonies as independent states included the famous politician and diplomat of that time Thomas Jefferson and political philosopher Benjamin Franklin. Jefferson later became the third President of America.

How many people lost their lives

Let us tell you that the foundation of the British colonial empire in America was laid during the reign of James I. The Red Indians are the original inhabitants of America. America got complete independence on 4 July 1776. However, America’s freedom struggle ended in 1783 (according to the Treaty of Paris).
