Using The Way Of Mouse And Keyboard Can Tell Whether You Are Under Stress Or Not Said Research

Stress: Stress affects our behavior and way of working in many ways. Some experienced experts can get an idea of how much stress a person is under just by looking at him. At the same time, stress is also detected with the help of factors like heart rate and blood pressure. However, Swiss scientists have claimed on the basis of their new study that stress can be assessed by understanding the behavior of a person working on a computer mouse and keyboard.

Stress will be detected by keyboard and mouse

Researchers have also claimed that a computer mouse can prove to be a better stress indicator than a human’s heartbeat. Researchers at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETHZ) say they have developed a new model using new data and machine learning.

Study done on 90 people

The researchers included 90 participants for the study. These participants were assigned some office work such as planning in the lab, scheduling appointments, recording or analyzing data, etc.

In the study, some participants were left alone to work and others were repeatedly disturbed with chats or messages asking whether they would like to attend a job interview. Similarly, the researchers found out who the stressed people are and how these people use their mouse and keyboard compared to the non-stressed people.

How was the behavior of stressful people

The study found that people under stress moved their mouse pointer more often and with less accuracy. Along with this, he also covered longer distances in the screen. These people made mistakes while typing and used to stop many times while typing.

There was this difference in people without stress

However, people without stress also paused while typing, but much less often and for longer periods of time. Researchers said that the relationship between stress and keyboard and mouse behavior can be explained through neuromotor noise theory.

According to the report, one in three people in Switzerland is struggling with stress at their workplace. Significantly, the problem of stress at the workplace is not only a challenge for Switzerland, but for the whole world including India. It is a good thing that now companies have also started taking it seriously.
