Uttar Pradesh is ready to take a new flight in the field of agriculture. 75 percent of the 45 percent of the country’s arable land is in UP, which makes it the most fertile state in the country. This is the reason that Uttar Pradesh ranks first in the country in the production of wheat, potato, mango, guava, peas, mushrooms, watermelons and honey. UP has 15% share in vegetable production and 11% in fruit production. Not only this, 16-17% of the total population of the country lives in UP, but UP’s contribution to food production is more than 23%. For this reason, Uttar Pradesh is called the ‘food basket’ of the country.

On the occasion of the inauguration of Uttar Pradesh Agriculture Growth and Enterprise Ecosystem Strength (UP Agreez) project, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that this project will take the state’s agricultural economy to new heights. He informed that UP is third in India’s food exports, and UP Agreez will further strengthen this situation.

4000 crore plan, golden opportunity for farmers

The state government has approved the UP Agreez project of Rs 4000 crore to increase the income of farmers. Out of this, a loan of Rs 2,737 crore will be available from the World Bank, while the state government will give a contribution of Rs 1,166 crore. The purpose of this scheme is to increase productivity of major crops, identify specific agricultural products, strengthen post harvest management and provide better market facilities to farmers.

Preparation for big changes in 6 years

The project will be applicable for six years from 2024-25 to 2029-30. In the first phase, 28 districts of eight commissioners of UP have been selected. The government aims to increase agricultural productivity by 30 to 35 percent, which brings a big bounce in the income of farmers. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi With the inspiration of Uttar Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh is setting new paradigms of rapid development. Progress in agriculture and its associated sectors can be clearly seen.

Farmers will benefit from infrastructure and investment

Under the UP Agreez project, emphasis has also been laid on the development of infrastructure and employment in the state. The Green Field Manufacturing Unit is being established in Eupida’s Integrated Manufacturing and Logistics Cluster with an investment of Rs 1,300 crore. Apart from this, an investment of Rs 4,000 crore has been reached with the UAE’s Aquabridge Company to modernize the fisheries sector.
