Joshimath News Today: A temple suddenly collapsed in Joshimath in the hilly state of Uttarakhand. However, there was no casualty in this incident. The incident pertains to the temple located in Singdhar Ward of Joshimath, which collapsed on 6th January i.e. Friday evening. It is a matter of pride that there was no one inside the temple at the time of the incident.
Disaster management officials said that due to the destruction of the temple, huge cracks have appeared in many houses and about 50 families have been sent to safer places. At the same time, this incident has made the people living in the shadow of the fear of a big disaster more worried. According to the local residents, about 15 days ago there were big cracks in the temple, so it was evacuated. Finally the temple collapsed on Friday evening.
Dozens of families were sent to other places
Pankaj Chauhan, director of disaster management, said that apart from the people who were evacuated from the houses there after the temple collapse, 60 other families have been shifted to other places. Pankaj Chauhan said that they lived in the colony built for the employees of the Vishnu Prayag Hydroelectric Project.

‘Chardham All Weather Road’ project put on hold
After the accident, all construction activities related to big projects like ‘Chardham All Weather Road’ (Helang-Marwari Bypass) and NTPC’s hydroelectric project have been stopped till further orders on the demand of the local people.
Land sinking for more than a year
Rishi Prasad, former chairman of the local municipality, told that the Auli ropeway service also had to be stopped after a huge crack appeared at the bottom. He said that the land has been sinking in the said area for more than a year, but in the last fortnight this problem has become even more serious. Meanwhile, people staged a sit-in at the Tehsil office of Joshimath on Friday demanding rehabilitation.
Chief Minister said – will do everything for rescue
State Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said in Dehradun that a team of experts is present in Joshimath to study all aspects of the problem and everything will be done to save the town.
