Vaishakh Purnima 2024: This year the full moon date of Vaishakh month is falling on Thursday 23 May 2024. Buddha Purnima (Buddha Purnima 2024) is also on this day. Also, there is importance of worshiping Peepal tree on this full moon day. Therefore it is also called Peepal Purnima (Peepal Purnima 2024).

In the month of May, the fast of Lord Satyanarayan will be observed on the full moon day of Vaishakh month i.e. 23rd May. On this day you can also get the Katha ritual done at home by a priest. Let us tell you that on the day of Vaishakh Purnima, Purnima Tithi will start from 06:47 AM on 22nd May and will end the next day on 23rd May at 07:22 PM. According to Udayatithi, Vaishakh Purnima will be valid on 23rd May.
Satyanarayan Vrat Puja Vidhi
On Thursday, the day of Vaishakh Purnima, wake up early in the morning and take bath. Actually, river bathing on Purnima Tithi has importance. But if river bath is not possible then you can take bath at home by mixing some Ganga water in the bath water. After this, spread a yellow colored cloth on a post for worship and install the photo of Lord Satyanarayan on it. Also tie banana leaves around the post. Keep an urn filled with pure water near the post and light a ghee lamp.
Now worship Lord Satyanarayan with Shodashopachar method. Recite Satyanarayan Katha by offering fruits and flowers etc. After the story, perform Aarti and then distribute Prasad. Keep flour powder, panchamrit, seasonal fruits, sweets and basil leaves etc. as Prasad on this day.
Importance of Satyanarayan Puja
Lord Satyanayan is worshiped in the form of Sri Hari. According to religious belief, Satyanarayan means, only Lord Narayan in the world is the truth, everything else is illusion. In the original text of Satyanarayan Katha, there are about 170 verses in Sanskrit and it is divided into 5 chapters. In Satyanarayan Katha, Lord Vishnu himself says – The person who observes Satyanarayan fast and worships, all his sorrows go away and he gets virtuous results.
