The work of making Varanasi Bhadohi-Gopiganj State Highway four lane from Chandpur to Lohta has got stuck due to cutting of trees. Correspondence has been going on between the two departments for two months to cut down 20 trees which were obstructing the road widening work, but no solution could be found. Now the Construction Corporation has written a letter to the Divisional Logging Manager Mirzapur with this warning. It is written in the letter that if there is a delay in completion of the work, you will be responsible for it.
A project worth Rs 130 crore was started on May 8, 2022 to make Varanasi Bhadohi-Gopiganj SH-87 four-lane from Chandpur intersection to Lohta. In this, the logging manager was given the responsibility of cutting trees that were becoming a hindrance in road widening. In this, a large number of trees were cut, for which the construction corporation paid the tree cutting agency. But, 20 trees are still becoming a hindrance, for which the Construction Corporation has written a letter to the Divisional Logging Manager six times in the last two months to cut them.
The work is to be completed by 25th February, but with the pace of work remaining, it seems difficult to complete it on time. On Monday, Ashutosh Kumar, XEN of Construction Corporation-1, wrote a letter to the Divisional Logging Manager, Mirzapur, saying that even after continuous correspondence and telephone talks for the last two months, you have not taken cognizance of cutting the trees that were obstructing the road construction. This is regrettable.
