Dr. RK Singh, Chief Medical Superintendent (CMS) of Deendayal Upadhyaya District Hospital has been removed amid disturbances and chaos in the operation of the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) wing. He has been made senior consultant in the 200 bedded hospital in Amethi. Dr. Digvijay Singh has been made the new CMS of the district hospital. Till now Dr. Digvijay was handling the responsibility of Joint Director of Varanasi Division. He has claimed to improve the arrangements of the MCH wing.

The operation of MCH wing is going on under the supervision of CMS of Deendayal Upadhyay District Hospital. There is a provision of 50 beds, but only 29 beds are being treated. When pregnant women raised the issue of negligence in treatment, Amar Ujala correspondent conducted an investigation on 21st June. This brought the error to the fore.

It came to know that the doctors are not coming on time. The OPD timings are from 8 in the morning, but the doctor reaches at 9:15 in the morning. Doesn’t work till emergency. After the matter came to the fore, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak and Principal Secretary asked for the report.
