In the case of raping a teenager by kidnapping her on the pretext of marriage, the court of Special Judge (POCSO Act II) Anubhav Dwivedi has sentenced the accused to eight years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 20,000. At the same time, Vinod Yadav, who was found guilty of helping in the elopement of the teenager, has been sentenced to three years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 5,000.
According to the prosecution, the mother of the victim from Phoolpur police station area had lodged an FIR. It was alleged that on May 13, 2016, Pradeep Yadav, a resident of the same village, along with his friend Vinod Yadav, lured and kidnapped the daughter.
During the investigation, Phoolpur police arrested the accused Pradeep Yadav from Phoolpur market on 11 July 2016. The victim was recovered and the accused was sent to jail. After the medical examination of the victim, the police filed a chargesheet against both the accused under various sections including rape. The court sentenced both the accused after finding them guilty during the trial.
A young man’s leg got cut off after falling from a train in Saraiya
A young man’s left leg was cut off after falling from a train last night near the Saraiya railway dot bridge in Jaitpura police station area of Varanasi. He was admitted to the divisional hospital. Rakesh, 28 years old, a resident of Rohtas Naraina village in Bihar was going to Sasaram by MEMU train from Cantt station.
Suddenly his feet slipped and he fell on the track. Police admitted the injured to the divisional hospital Kabirchaura and informed his family. The injured Rakesh had come to Varanasi to work as a labourer.
