Varanasi Will Host G20 Development Ministers Meeting I Will Chair It Said EAM S Jaishankar


EAM S Jaishankar: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said on Saturday that Varanasi will host the G20 development ministers’ meeting. Jaishankar told students at BHU, “Kashi is one of the important sites for the G20 meetings and the meeting of development ministers, which I will chair, will be held here. You will see me on the streets of Varanasi with this.” Jaishankar said that the whole set of institutions, ideas and campaigns are coming out of India today.

Jaishankar further said that India has become more dominant regionally. The External Affairs Minister said that earlier the world used to look at India and Pakistan equally, but not now, not even Pakistan. When the world sees the rise of India, it also sees the contribution and successes of the overseas Indians for them. Therefore, we also have a responsibility. If so many Indians live abroad, it is our duty to take care of it (diaspora).”

S Jaishankar inspects Tamil Sangamam exhibition

Earlier, Jaishankar inspected the Kashi Tamil Sangamam exhibition at the Amphitheater of Banaras Hindu University (BHU). On 19 November, Prime Minister Narendra Modi Inaugurating the Kashi Tamil Sangamam in Varanasi, recalled the traditional bond of knowledge and ancient civilizational links between Kashi and Tamil Nadu.
PM Modi had said, “On the one hand, Kashi is our cultural capital, which covers the whole of India. On the other hand, there is Tamil Nadu and Tamil culture, which is the center of India’s antiquity and pride.”
