A miscreant entered the AC coach and attacked a woman in the GT Express parked at Shivaji Bridge in New Delhi. The accused hit the victim on the head with an iron rod and looted her gold mangalsutra and fled. The woman was badly injured in the attack. The woman was treated when the train reached New Delhi railway station. Later, after taking his statement, the police registered a case under sections of robbery and started searching for the accused. Police is looking for the accused with the help of CCTV cameras installed nearby. Police say that they have got some clues in the case. Soon the accused will be nabbed.
The 63-year-old victim, N Savitri, lives with her family in Anna Nagar, Chennai. On Tuesday, she was coming to Delhi in the AC coach of GT Express train. The train reached Delhi and stopped at Shivaji Bridge. She was brushing her teeth at around 6.20 am. Meanwhile, an unknown person boarded his coach. Seeing Savitri alone, the accused attacked her with an iron rod.
Savitri was badly injured in this attack. After this, the accused broke the mangalsutra from her neck and escaped by jumping from the train. Meanwhile the train started. In some time the train reached New Delhi Railway Station. The injured woman first got her treatment done by reaching New Railway Central Hospital. Later, after giving a statement to the police, the woman got the case registered. The woman says that she had come to Delhi at her relative’s place. Police is trying to find out the character of the accused by interrogating them.
