The Sessions Court has sentenced two brothers living in the neighborhood who were found guilty in a 30-year-old case of brutality against a girl in Shahjahanpur, to ten years of imprisonment each. When the girl became pregnant, the family could not muster the courage to take action against the criminals. The son born after molestation was also handed over to a relative. Growing up, the same son searched for his mother and lodged a rape report. Got his DNA matched with that of the accused for evidence. The test opened the way to justice and the culprits were exposed.
In the year 1994, the victim was 12 years old. She lived with her brother-in-law and sister in Sadar Bazar area. At a short distance, Naqi Hasan alias Bladey Driver and his brother Guddu, residents of Mohalla Mahmand Jalalnagar, lived. The victim’s sister and brother-in-law were employed. Both of them had gone out for work, when Naki entered the house. He raped the girl. Next day Guddu also committed cruelty. After this, both the brothers threatened and abused her for two years.
When the victim became pregnant, her sister and brother-in-law complained to her at her home. On this, both the brothers threatened the family so much that out of fear, they did not complain anywhere. Here, due to her young age, the doctor also refused to perform an abortion. In Rampur, she gave birth to a son at the age of 13. Out of fear of public shame, the family gave the son to a relative in Hardoi for upbringing. The victim got married six years after the incident. After six years of marriage, when her past was revealed, her husband ended the relationship.
