On Vinayak Chaturthi, wake up early in the morning and take bath and wear red or yellow colored clothes. After this, take a resolution to worship and keep fast for the whole day. Install the idol of Ganesha made of clay or metal at the puja post. In auspicious time, worship Bappa with turmeric, kumkum, abeer, gulal and vermillion. Offer Durva and offer laddu or modar. Recite Ganpati Chalisa. Keep reciting the above mentioned mantras during the puja. Feed jaggery and ghee to the cow. Feed the Brahmin and give him Dakshina.
