World Cup 2023: The match between India and Afghanistan to be held today (October 11) will be played in Delhi. Both the teams will face each other at 2 pm at the Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium in Delhi. This will be a special match for Virat Kohli. This is because this stadium is the home ground of Virat Kohli. He reached Team India while playing cricket here. One special thing is that a pavilion of this stadium has also been named after Virat Kohli. In such a situation, know what Virat thinks about playing in front of the pavilion named after him…
While talking to KL Rahul in a video shared by BCCI, Virat says, ‘For me, this is the stadium where I grew up playing age group and Ranji cricket. I also played for India there. Those memories remain fresh in your mind. You can feel them because this is where it all started. The selectors saw you for the first time and gave you a chance. It will be really special to play in the Arun Jaitley Stadium again.
Virat says, ‘We used to practice there in the B ground and then watch the practice of Ranji teams in the main ground. It would be very strange for me to play there in front of a pavilion named after me. I will not say much on this but it is a matter of great pride and I am very happy and grateful for it. This is something I never thought about.
They both got #TeamIndia the first win of #CWC23
As the bandwagon moves to Delhi, here’s @imVkohli , @klrahul dissecting their match-winning partnership against Australia 😊
