Virat-Maxwell and Green failed, then came the storm of DK and Rawat; RCB gave target of 174 to CSK

IPL 2024: On March 22, the first match of IPL 2024 was played at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. In this match, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) came face to face, in which Faf du Plessis won the toss and decided to bat first. The Bengaluru team started well, but as soon as Du Plessis was out, the team was seen struggling. Kohli is known for handling the team in difficult situations, but he too could not take the team to a big score. RCB, playing first, scored 173 runs in 20 overs.

Faf Duplessis gave a good start

Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli started the innings for RCB. Du Plessis gave a good start to the team by scoring 35 runs in 23 balls, hitting 8 fours. Rajat Patidar’s bad form continues, who was out on zero after playing only 3 balls and Glenn Maxwell was also out on zero on the first ball. Cameron Green was seen playing very slowly, scoring only 18 runs in 22 balls. Every ball of Mustafizur Rahman was asking new questions to the RCB batsmen. He took 4 wickets giving only 30 runs in 4 overs.

DK and young Anuj Rawat took over the innings

After the collapse of the top order and middle order, Dinesh Karthik and young player Anuj Rawat took the responsibility. Anuj Rawat played an inning of 48 runs in 25 balls, while Karthik scored 38 runs in 26 balls. Tushar Deshpande was especially thrashed because he gave away 25 runs in the 18th over of the innings. The start that Rahman had given to CSK, the team completely failed in bowling in the last overs. It seemed as if Chennai would restrict Bengaluru to a score of less than 150, but it did not happen. RCB has scored 173 runs in the first innings.
