In the 400 meter hurdle race, Vithya has touched the national record of legend Indian athlete PT Usha. He completed his race in 55.42 seconds. In the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, PT Usha completed the 400 meter hurdles race in 55.42 seconds. She stood fourth in the final. PT Usha had narrowly missed a medal in this event. However, with this tremendous performance, he set an Indian record in the 400 meter hurdles race which could not be broken by other Indian runners for the last 39 years. Only now has any athlete been able to touch this figure of PT Usha.
Vithya’s sister is also challenging in Asian Games
Vithya is a resident of Coimbatore. After Corona he has shifted to Chennai. His father was an autorickshaw driver. Vithya also has a sister, who is participating in this Asian Games. His sister’s name is Nithya. Vithya and Nithya are twin sisters and both are representing India in athletics. While Vithya is participating in the 400 meter hurdle race event in this Asian Games, Nithya is showing strength in the 100 meter hurdle race. This is the first time that two twin sisters are representing India together in the Asian Games.
